Amish Land

While we were in Pennsylvania for Christmas, we spent a day touring the city of York, where my mother-n-law and her husband live. This city is heavily populated with Amish families and farms. I have seen pictures of these people and my mother-n-law talks a lot about them. In fact, an Amish family came to the Pentecostals of York, where my family attends church. The father received the Holy Ghost during a church service and the mother received the Holy Ghost at her home during a Bible study. They are not able to attend church often because they live so far away. My mother-n-law often talks about this family and the amazing thing God did for them. As we toured the city, we were able to see some Amish people and farms. It was very neat to see these people in person. We even were able to see a man working on his farm.

We saw this buggie parked in the mall parking lot. Do you notice the girl's head peaking out the window?

Since the Amish do not have electricity, they must let their clothes hang outside to dry.

This Amish man was riding his unicycle (or whatever they call the things) down the street.
These families were driving their buggies right behind us down the highway. Notice how the car is crossing the yellow lines slightly to allow the buggies to pass. The people in the city show much respect for the Amish.
